Show Friday, February Utah-Region- The latest developments in Utah and around the Intermountain West al Week of Decision Ends Indecisively By MICHAEL WHITNEY SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) -Leaders of the Legislature's GOP majority billed this as "a week of decision" on basic budget issues. But, according to House Speaker Norm Bangerter, Valley, "We sure didn't get much decided." Part of the roadbock resulted from differences between Gov. Scott Matheson and the Legislature's fiscal analyst over revenue projections for fiscal 1984. Mathe- son and legislative leaders planned meetings today to discuss the state's income potential. But the results of the meeting won't be translated into a political party position until next week. "We didn't get the decisions made, as we had hoped, and we're through now until our Republican caucus next Tuesday," said Assistant House Minority Whip Lyle Hillyard, The Legislature's GOP leaders claim revenue figures show the state earning $25 million less next year than the $1.9 million Matheson wants to spend. Matheson, while agreeing that money will be shorter than he had expected, thinks the Legislature's estimate is overblown by at least $5 million too high. At stake in the revenue debate are such issues as whether public employees and school teachers will get raises, and whether tax increases will be needed. The Senate passed, 22-a bill that gives West Valley City three circuit court judges, and adds one DENVER (UPI) systerh. It sends circuit-leve- l cases to to Murray and Salt Lake City courts for trial. Sen. Paul Rogers, questioned the need for three judges in West Valley City, which has a population of 72,000.
