The idea was that four choreographers would get the short end of an evening to come up with a work apiece, one of which would be dubbed winner by the audience. Now Salt Lake's Dance Company refines that theme with "Equilibrium," playing tonight through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in Salt Lake City. The concert features two elements, one grouping of estab lished works and one grouping developed exclusively for the concert as competition pieces. "We developed a list of f ac- - ; ulty members we wanted to invite to create new work for us," says artistic director Charlotte "They were meant to represent the universities that have the strongest dance departments in the state. "We got lucky in that our top four choices said yes." Their top four choices included Utah Valley University's own Doris Trujillo. "One way Charlotte wanted to distinguish this competition from one like 'Charette' is putting some strictures on it. I said yes before I heard the strictures," Trujillo said.
