Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Larsen visited with Mrs, Earnest Smith of Pleasant Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Palmer ol South Jordan. The Senior Volley Ball team ol Copperton Ward participated in a ward banquet held at the West Jordan Jor-dan Stakehouse Thursday. Awardi were given to each girl who participated par-ticipated in volley ball. Copperton was awarded third place. Those attending at-tending were Shirley Johnson, Susan Sus-an Boulton, Janice Nix, JoAnn Pas-quali, Pas-quali, Jean Robison, Nancy Crellin, Norma Kay Milner, Ilene Lancaster, Betty Mae Winn, Tina Hatch, Kathy Poulsen, Margie Winn, Linda Garrett, Gar-rett, Colleen Harker, Kathy Crellin, Sherry Cowdell, Jayne Carrigan, Ella Ree Carpenter, Ann Stocks, Virginia McAllister and Norma Jean Boulton. They were coached by Bonnie Malan and Shirley Johnson. Mrs. Nick Floros and Mrs. Joe Brisk have been confined this past week in St. Mark's Hospital. Advance Dance class of Bingham High School held a farewell party for the senior girls at the home of Mrs. Virginia McDonald in Magna Monday. Those attending were Shirley Johnson, Janice Nix, Patricia Pa-tricia Curtis, Pearl Milner, Nikki Jones, Claudia Murano, Linda Long, Linda Smernoff and Marian Murano. Mrs. Lola Anderson attended the funeral services of her cousin, Francis Hardcastle held at Midvale on Tuesday of last week. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnson last Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lundbeerg of Murray, Mrs. Hannah Smith and Billy Johnson of West Jordan, and Mrs. Jennie Erickson and son, Johnny. Mrs. Elmer V. Knudsen charmingly charm-ingly entertained her evening dinner din-ner and bridge club on Saturday evening, May 16. A nicely-arranged seven o'clock dinner was served after which bridge was played. Members present were Mrs. Robert Bailey, Mrs. B. J. Santistevan, Mrs. O. S. Jensen, Mrs. A. D. Christen-en, Christen-en, Mrs. Eugene Morris, Mrs. Odell Peterson, Mrs. Harold Nielsen and i Miss Mabel Neprud. Special guests were Mrs. L. E. Snow, Mrs. R. G. Frazier, Mrs. T. H. McMullin. Mrs. Maude Stillman and Mrs. Minerva Smith. Prizes were won by Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Christensen, Mrs. Peterson, Pe-terson, Mrs. Stillman and Mrs. Snow. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jenson were guests of friends in Salina and Redmond Red-mond over the week end. Mrs. Minerva Smith of Salt Lake City visited Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer V. Knudsen. Knud-sen. ' Mrs. William Ablett is in Canon City, Colo., visiting with Mrs. Annie Ablett, who is in the hospital there. Miss Pearl Milner attended a dinner din-ner at the Italian Village Wednesday Wednes-day night with other members of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Youth. Mine Milner is cultural chairman chair-man for the state in this organiza tion. Mrs. Rae Poulsen entertained at a party luncheon Monday honoring her daughter, Glenda, on her fifth birthday. Neighborhood children attended and a delightful time was had by all. Later that evening Glenda Glen-da was honored at a dinner given by Mrs. Dick Houghton of Midvale. Guests this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jenson were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Partridge of Duchesne. Du-chesne. Tuesday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnson were Mrs. Gladys Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Olsen of Midvale. Russell Crump celebrated his fifth birthday Saturday with a party celebrating the occasion given for him by his mother, Mrs. Gwen Crump. Games were played after which refreshments were served. Russell received many nice gifts. |
