Brienholt, Provo native and currently teacher at the Kearns Seminary, and Rand H. Packer, teacher at the Provo Seminary, spent last week on the campus of Brigham Young University attending a workshop in new for principals for their new preparation assignments. Mr. Kiliian, who resides with his family at 1295 North Oquirrh Drive, will be principal of the Provo Seminary. Mr. Breinholt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Breinholt, the father of a member of the Art Department at BYU, will become the principal of the Mesa, Arizona, 9th Seminary as school begins in the fall. Mr. Packer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thane Packer, the father currently serving as chairman the Youth Leadership Department at BYU, will take over the principalship of the Orem 9th Seminary. of The four-da- y workshop consisted of concentrated orientation in all phases of the responsibilities of principalship. XY' Dr. Philip D. Harris, San Dimas, Calif., has been named chairman of the Department of Special Courses and Con- ferences at Brigham Young University, it was announced today by President Dallin H. Oaks. Dr. Harris succeeds Dr. Sterling R. Church, who will leave BYU June 30 to accept the position of dean of students at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City. The appointment of Dr. Harris gives him the responsibility of conducting a wide spectrum of courses educational and programs which serve patrons of education continuing throughout the world. Last year more than 16,800 students from fifteen foreign countries and every state in the nation attended courses, workshops and seminars sponsored by Special Courses and Conferences. Presently, 135 different types of programs are being offered by the department including the Annual Priesthood Genealogical Research Seminar, Summer Youth Programs, Survival Adventures, Interium Classes and Audio Recording Seminar to mention a few.
