There was no fatality recorded during the "year. During 1960 there were 228 car accidents with 430 cars involved!. There were 430 Injuries with prop.! erty damage estimated at : LEHI Announcement is made this week by the local officers of the Civil Air Patrol that a local cadet unit will be formed in the near future This new unit would include boys and girls aged 14 to 18 years, according to Dewey Nielsen, information officer. Youths in this age group together with their parents, are invited to a meeting to be held in the National Guard Armory Thursday evening, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Representative speakers from Salt Lake City will be in attendance to discuss the program and answer any questions. Comparisons with the previous year show a decrease of one car accident, a decrease of six persons injured, a decrease 'Of two cars involved and ' a decreased property damage of $21,-71- 7. During 1960 Orem Police officers issued 2059 citations an increase of 680 over 1959. There were 470 accidents. During 1960 there were eight pedestrians injured involving vehicles; six injured in 6 accidents, and there were cases of drunken" driving. The awards were presented to Ronald Stine, president of the Lehi Garden Club, in behalf of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Clifford Austin, Lehi- City and the Lehi Garden Club. The award to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers was made for their beautification of the original pioneer cemetery site. Mr. Austin received an award for his individual garden.
