Danny Pacheo, an Alpha Beta employe, had just caught up with the man in the store's parking lot when his female companion drove the car over to where the two were struggling. The suspect dove into the car. As Pacheo tried to stop him, the car fishtailed and hit Pacheo, then sped off. The incident began earlier when four suspects two males and two entered Grand Central, females apparently with the intent to burglarize the pharmacy. When their plan failed, the foursome went across the street to Alpha Beta. At this point, the couples split up and the first man was discovered as he entered the pharmacy through a back door. Pharmacist Richard Vincent and Pacheo chased the man through the store and Pacheo caught up with him in the parking lot before he escaped with a woman. The second couple was detained in the store. They were inter West viewed by police then released, pending further charges. The getaway car was later impounded by police. Midvale holds special meet on annexation It appears Midvale City has reached an accommodation with annextion petitioners in the area between 8300 and 8350 South and west of State Street. The city council called a special meeting Tuesday evening ,to finalize action on the proposed annexation. Should the council give its approval, which seems likely, Midvale would beat the deadline and could collect property and sales taxes from the area during 1981. As he approached the car to investigate, the suspect, who was wearing a dark ski mask, dark pants and a dark sweater, pointed the gun at him and ordered him to back off. Brighton teacher conservation award Participation in the National Conservation of Association Districts' Enviromental Conservation education Contest proved profitable for a local high school teacher. Raymond Rogers, a biology teacher at Brighton High, walked away with top honors for Utah.
