I just hope we'll be in the thick of it." 6-- Head coach Steve Margetts, now seven picks, starting with senior running back Jeff Grant, who, at 200, was the top rusher for the Grant carried 153 times for 1,400 yards in 11 games, averaging an incredible 8.5 yards per carry. Mike Thorne, a 205 pound senior linebackerrunning back, rushed 103 times for 653 yards. He was also the key to Jordan's defense at middle linebacker. Senior quarterback Scott Deuel, 160, ran the ball 80 times for 461 yards and six touchdowns. He also was 35x65 passing, At 230 pounds, senior Jamie Fullmer, an offensivedefensive lineman, led Jordan's defense. Fullmer posted 12 unassisted tackles and 38 assisted takedowns plus three sacks. Senior Travis Bircumshaw, 225, joined Fullmer in anchoring the right side of the Beetdigger offensive line. 195, Rusty Eyre, a senior at played a tight end and strong safety, catching 13 passings for 287 yards (22 yards per catch). On defense he had 40 tackles, 13 assisted, and three interceptions. Senior Eric Turnbow, 160, completed Jordan's first team picks. Turnbow played at free safety and running back, gaining 135 yards on 10 rushes in one game, while, on defense, coming up with eight interceptions and 32 tackles, 11 assisted. Another senior, Jason Savill, 175, a outside linebackerrunning back, was named Honorable Mention for Jordan. Brighton high's nominations were led by senior captain Scott Murry, 2, 205. playing at defensive back. Murry had nine interceptions, three fumble recoveries and was the second leading tackier for the Bengals. 180 pound Jeremy Rawle. a senior linebacker led the team in tackles with 11 assisted and 38 solo ' takedowns.'. players we might be working into the starting lineup." Senior Wilburn McDougal, was a three year starter for West Jordan. At 252 pounds, he played at offensive center on the defensive line. Earning Honorable Mention from West Jordan are Brian Hardman, 183. defensive back; Troy 180. defensive end; McDougal, Dustin Curtis, 216, linebacker; Matt Hied, 285. offensive ( 6-- 6-- 6-- 6-- 6-- Job Corps 158, guard; and Kurt Martin, linebacker, all seniors. Alta high fought back to within one game of a state berth this year, earning it three first team picks. Senior tight enddefensive end Thad DeHart. 200, led the Hawks' list. The varsity wrestles at 7:30 p.m. and the J.V. at 5 p.m. The next home meet will be with Hillcrest on Thursday, Dec. 17. The varsity match will again start at 7:30. High hopes go with Matt Casto, who has been a state champion the last two years, and Roger Richardson, who placed third in the state meet last year. Wrestlers that have been with the program for three years are Jini Rowe and Bill Kilpack, both with varsity experience. Chris Jaramillo and Justin Williams are in their second year of high school wrestling. The varsity wrestling team may be inexperience in the lighter and heavier weights, but it will be quite strong in the middle weights, said the coach.
