They were i SI crowned King and Queen of the dance due to their accumulated points earned from competing in activities held throughout the week. Sadie Hawkins competition activities included bobbing for apples, a cake and pie baking contest, a ' ' CfX10 sored by the FBL (Future Business Leader) students at the school each year. Jaguar Marching Band members at West Jordan high school have been very busy practicing and participating in competition meets held during the past month. The band was awarded second place at the Nebo Tournament held at Payson high school on Oct. 14th. Jeff Monson was awarded outstanding drum major. Seven bands competed in the competition with high school winning first place and Payson high school third. Julie Christofferson, director, said, "It was really fun. It looked like the whole town of Payson came out to see it." A Region II competition was held at West Jordan high school on Oct. 21st. The Jaguar Marching band placed second again with American Fork high school first place and Bingham high school band third. Spr-ingvil- le The Jaguar Marching Band performed at the University of Utah's Western State Band Competition held Oct. 24th. Fund-raisin- g forts are continuing for Michael Shane Bowden's expensive bone marrow transplant, referred to in a story in last week's Green Sheet. It was reported that the transplant procedure went well on Oct: 29th at U.C.L.A. hospital: Hisonner sister, Stacie, is sore and stiff as' a result of having bone marrow removed from her hip bones. Doctors will not be able to determine if the bone marrow transplant was successful for another two or three weeks, explained a spokesperson. Meanwhile efforts continue to help the Bowden family raise $50,000 towards the $150,000 transplant average of 14 hours a week. We have fantastic kids this year who are very hard working students.
