In the Little Caesar's incident, the suspect is described as a white male, 0 to 1 in 19 to 5 pounds, height, weighing with dark hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a light blue jacket. According to police reports, the suspect pulled a black, automatic pistol on two employees, a Salt Lake man and a Riverton girl. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect then, locked the two victims in the store's walk-i- n freezer. An assistant manager of the business drove up to the building at about that same time and noticed a white male walking out of the front door with a Little Caesar's shirt in 6-- creditation, announced Kenneth H. Rock, Hospital President. In its official notification the Joint Commission noted, "This achievement reflects the efforts of your organization to provide high quality care for those you serve. AO. SALT LAKE. Nearly everyone will become a crime victim at least once at some point during their lifetime, according to a report by Utah Foundation, the private, nonprofit research organization. The study indicates the likelihood of being victimized by a crime dur' ing a "normal" lifespan, and is calculated from annual victimlza--tio- n statistics gathered from the National Crime Survey taken by the U. S. Bureau of Justice Statistics. The analysis excludes crimes against children and child abuse cases. Foundation analysts point out that the probabilities are based on nationwide averages and could differ from state to state and from community to community. Following are some of the major observations presented in the study : Nearly everyone (99 percent of the total population) will be a victim of theft at least once during his or her lifetime. Approximately seven out of eight persons will be victimized three or more times. About half of the population will be victimized by violent crimes more than once. Males are more likely to become victims than females. Nearly one out of every 12 females will be the victim of a completed or attempted rape. The estimated rate for black females is one in nine. Approximately three in 10 persons will be victims of a completed or attempted robbery during their lifetimes. Blacks are almost twice as likely to be robbed as whites, and males are about 70 percent more likely to be robbed than females. About three out of four people will become victims of a completed or attempted assault; two in five will be victims of this crime at least twice. Again, males are more likely to be assaulted than females. An estimated two in five persons will be injured as a result of a robbery or assault; about one in 10 will be injured more than once. These injuries can range from minor to life threatening. Approximately one of every 133 Americans will become a homicide victim; for black males the proportion is estimated to be 1 of every 30 inhabitants. The likelihood of becoming the victim of a violent crime tends to diminish with age. In other words, younger individuals are more likely to become a violent crime victim than older individuals. Estimates of the likelihood of a personal theft drop off much less rapidly with age than do the estimates for violent crime victimization.
