Two girls will be selected to serve as sponsors for each of the eight participating teams, and the E .rents of the Wasatch and Timpanogos ball players will provide the nucleus for a father and the mother combination to assist ' out for in the sponsors looking welfare of the nearly , 150 boys and their managers who will be in attendance during the com. petition. Dozens of trophies have been! ordered and will be in readiness for the Tourney. Merchandise and other prizes will go to each of the outstanding players in the various departments in each of the seventeen games to be played. They should become lifelong tokens for the boys who are fortunate enough to receive one or more of .them. In addition, the committee was informed, visitors to Provo will receive other souvenirs and mementoes to help them remember for a long timej their one big visit to Provo and Central Utah. Public Banquet Planned r Special emphasis was placed on the public banquet which will initiate the Tournament Monday night, ' Aug. 10, on the BYU Campus. A nationally known sports figure is more than a possibility for the affair, and church and civic ranks are being scoured for top entertainment features for this part of the program. A display of the various prizes and trophies to be awarded, during the. tourney is being arranged for the front window display at the Bob Thomas Store for Men These displays will all be ready for showing by Aug. 1, it was announced. A team has been assured from the Hawaiian Islands, but. Alaska will have to win out in a tournament in the Northwest to qualify for a berth in the Provo tourney. California with its dozens of tough leagues will have four top teams vieing for championship honors. Central Utah will have the winner of the (Wasatch vs. Timpanogos League teams as the host team, and the winner of the District playoffs at Price, as participating teams in the tourney classic.
