The Park City Trail Series is a monthly trail running series that takes place on the Round Valley trail system in Park City, Utah. The start and finish area is at the Quinns Junction trailhead near the Park City ice rink. The races consists of 5K, 10K, 15K and halfmarathon. Park City Film Series: ‘Tickling Giants’ The Park City Film Series will present a free screening of Sara Taksler’s “Tickling Giants,” not rated, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. The documentary is about heart surgeon Bassem Youssef, who became a full-time satirist and was known as the “John Stewart of Egypt.” “Tickling Giants” offers a rousing celebration of free speech, showcasing the power upcoming & ongoing of satire to speak for the people and against a repressive government. The story differs from the familiar American success of Stewart and Stephen Colbert: Youssef’s jokes come with serious, dangerous, and at times revolutionary consequences. Dementia Aware Utah: A Free Alzheimer’s Education Series Connect Summit County, a nonprofit that raises awareness of mental health issues, will present a free education series taught by Anne Asman, from the University of Utah, from 6-8 p.m., for three Thursdays -- June 8, 15 and 22 -- at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave. The classes are designed to inform individuals who care for persons who exhibit signs and symptoms associated with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias. Through a mix of love letters, film clips and candid conversations with filmmakers, this documentary offers both a moving portrait of a marriage and a celebration of the unknown talents that help shape the films many love.
