The improving weather and graduation being just around the corner can combine to make the month of May a real challenge for kids on the verge of moving on to the next stage of life. Athletes participating in spring sports should be somewhat more focused, since they have region competition to complete and state to prepare for. For those of us who spend days on end since early August watching these kids, however, the end of the school year can be bitYou've got tersweet. Others will go to the far reaches of the country as they show their skills at UCLA, Southern Virginia, LSU or Washington. Most, however, will probably only continue their sports careers in intramural or city leagues. They will focus on following education, vocational or military ambitions. As I watch these seniors prepare to end their high school days and take those next steps, it doesn't seem like it was that long ago the I was in that position. It makes me laugh. You've got so much living still to do, no matter what path you take after you clean out that high school locker for the final time.
