I will not be jointhis ing those in the field season because my name was not drawn to participate. Although I was a bit disappointed, all is not lost, as I will be joining my wife on this year's statewide archery hunt. Opting for a new hunting partner, I'm convinced that should be easier on my aching knees and aging back. Until recently, most women only ventured into the back country if asked by their husbands or significant other. These invitations were not necessarily to suggest equal opportunity, but rather the need for a chief cook and bottle washer, someone to cuddle and an audience for sharing exaggerated tales. This is simply not the case in today's world. In an era of equal oppor- tunity, today's women are every bit as active as their male counterparts.
