Ward News The Relief Societies of the Mur- ray wards are preparing programs to be presented in the various wards, Sunday evening, March 21, to commemorate the organiation of the first Relief Society. Grant ward Relief Society members met Wednesday for another of their fine work day sessions, under the direction of Work Director Ann Sanders. A delicious pot luck luncheon was served to a large group of ladies by the refreshment committee, directed by Mrs. Karoline Dempke. The day was spent doing quilting, and various types of sewing and fancy work. The members of the Sixth ward Relief Society will enjoy a social and program next Tuesday in honor of another birthday of their organization. Mrs. JoAnn Wright will be in charge of the program. An invitation is sent out to all the women of the ward to join their friends and neighbors at this well planned social. Murray stake leadership meeting was held Monday evening at the First ward hall for officers and teachers of the stake and ward auxiliaries. The work day session at the Sixth ward Relief Society Tuesday was well attended. Mrs. Betty Ridgeway presented a very interesting lesson on "Spending Your Drapery and Curtain Dollar." A thought for the day was given by Beatrice Turner. Mrs. Larue Lath roup, Mrs. Evelyn Taylor and Mrs. Norma Mecham gave an Interesting demonstration of the making of clever knick-knacand table ks Lenore Fowlks was in charge of quilting a cotton pice quilt which was almost completed and Mrs. Nellie Postman, knitting teacher, was surrounded by u. group of ladies who are learning to knit. Mrs. Ridgeway taught a large group how to repair worn or ripped holes in coats and trousers, using a chrochet hook and Mrs. Beatrice Turner was in charge of the fancy work and painting. A delicious luncheon was served at noon to SOby Mrs. Wilma Svedin and Mrs. Pearl Burk, the teachers, assisted by Mrs. Doris Nielson, Mrs. Mary Ann Lind-qui- st and Marilyn Grail. Donald Evans was in charge of the games and entertainment, which included community singing, group games and several vocal numbers by the Sixth ward male quartet, Jacob Burton, Norval Turner, Wesley Steadman and Kenneth Johnson.
