They watch these war movies and get scared that something like what they see is going to happen to their parents. "Don't let pride interfere; we are here to help you," Padberg said. Deployment can be difficult for the entire family but there are many resources available to relieve the hardships of having a loved one gone. The Family Support Center's Family Readiness and Hearts Apart programs are specifically designed to help members balance quality of life and mission readiness needs more adeptly. "No one should ever feel like they don't have a place to turn because ried. "So, we decided to have this meet- ing to support parents and help them support their children," she added. "It's important for them to know they have a network of support. The school itself offers student assistance teams and counseling for any kids who need help." For more information call 775-487- 4 Kid's Deployment Day On April 25 students of Hill Field Elementary will go through a mock deployment to show them what hap- pens when their parents deploy therefore easing stress and fear. A similar program was held last August. Families are encouraged not to put their lives on hold while the member is deployed. Suggestions to help ease the stress of deployment include, getting together with other families in the same situation. Volunteer the best way to forget about personnel problems is to help others with theirs. Most important remember to take time for yourself.
