Brad Sutton, deputy commander of the 2849th Air Base Group, takes the dinner order of three of the participants at the recent birthday meal at Hillcrest Dining Hall. The celebrants, whose birthdays fall in January through July, were served a feast of steak or lobster tail to recognize their birthdays. This was the first birthday meal the dining hall staff had served since the troops returned from Desert Storm. For youth center members, the cost will be $15 and for the cost will be $17. All youth must be military, retired military or Department of Defense civilian family members. Lead crystal glassware a threat Recent studies suggest that alcohol stored for prolonged periods of time in crystal decanters may in fact reach the lead in the crystal, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service said. Lead has long been a threat to health and if it accumulates in the body's system over time, high levels can damage vital organs. Pending the outcome of the more comprehensive studies, AAFES is advising its customers not to store food or beverages in crystal glassware for extended periods of time. Oops! Last week's Hilltop Times misidentified the organization that will use a new waste oil handling vehicle. The vehicle will be used by the 2849th Civil Engineer Squadron rather than the Technology and Industrial Support Directorate. You may register at the HAFB, Weber State University Office, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at Weber State University Continuing Education Office, Promontory Tower, Room 218, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Military Tuition Assistance will be available July 29 through August 16, 1991 Books (for HAFB classes only) will be sold 1991, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Building 383. August 12-1- 6, Hill Air Force Base classes (Except Logistics) are on an eight-wee- k schedule. Classes will run August 12 - October 4, 1991 .
