Show Babcocks Lehi Living Octogenarian twins to be feted at open house July 28 JUL celebrate Twins Leah Cannon Holley and Lucille Cannon Waldron will celebrate their 80th birthday on July 28. An open house will be held in their honor July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shadowbrook 330 N. Condominiums, University Ave., Provo. Leah has spent most of her life in the Utah County Area. She was married to Harold H. Holley for over 50 years. He passed away Dec. 15, 1989. She has served in many church and civic positions and loves serving in the Provo LDS Temple. Leah's children are Jim (Marlene) Holley, formerly of Alpine, now in Fountain Green; Janet Harris, Orem; Anne (Paul) Michaelson, Las Vegas, Nev.; Steve (Debbie) Holley, anniversary Harold (Hal) and Babcock Betty have been walking together for 50 years on their journey through eternity. They celebrated their anniversary July 18 at the Lehi North Recreation Center. Their children are Beth (Michael) Bigelow, Robert Bruce (Judy), (Susan), Barbara (Adair) Payne, Brent (Tina), Brad (Cathy), Brenda (Kart) Jamison, Bonnie (Edwin) Gibbs, and Brian f (Michelle). All were expected to be present for the anniversary party, along with 30 of their 31 living grandchildren. :::: J. Don and Mae were married July 23, 1938 in Lehi by Bishop Isaac Fox. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were both born and grew up as neighbors in Lehi. Don was the son of Luther and Emma Lundgren Coates. Mae was the daughter of George William and Caroline of World in the and the the U.S. Seabees. During his absence, Mae worked making ammunition at the Remington Arms Plant in Salt Lake City. She later operated an overhead crane at the Geneva Steel Plant in Orem. After the war, Don worked at Deseret Chemical and Tooele Ordinance plant. He had to take a medical retirement in 1962. Mae retired after working 27 years at the Utah State Training School. They are both active in keeping their home in Dry Creek with the help, of their grandchildren. They are the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Quin (Sherry) Allred. To help them celebrate the occasion will be their grandchildren: Chad and Anna Allred, Amy and Ken LeMay, and Ryan Allred and Shelly Jenkins. n.
