Marine William Sovereen complete basic training Lehi Junior High students will demonstrate their skills and talent in a special Pioneer Round-u- p Education Fair. The fair will be held on Wednesday, April 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the school, 700 E. Cedar Hollow Rd. The public is invited to attend. Sovereen successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally. Walker won on the state level in the Agricultural Processing proficiency area for his outstanding performance in an agricultural area of work. He will be competing on the national level in Kansas City, Mo. In the Parliamentary Procedure contest, members are required to take a test on parliamentary law, give a . demonstration and answer questions about the demonstration. On the state level this year, Lehi's team placed fourth overall. Team members included Kasee Sweat, chairman; Travis Gray, secretary; and floor members Nathan Bushman, Lisa Suzanne Hadfield, Hadfield and Denise Nelson. Kasee Sweat competed in the state extemporaneous speaking contest, in which contestants are given 30 minutes to write a four- - to speech on a randomly-drawtopic. She finished second overall. She also applied for a state FFA officer position and will serve as the 1998-9- 9 state reporter.
