Quilters are invited to bring their quilts, old and new, to help celebrate the Sesquicentennial Heritage Festival in Pleasant Grove Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2. All types of quilts are welcome, hand or machine made, tied, appliqued, patchwork, wearable art, antique, you name it. Organizers hope there will be several entries for the category, "This Place in Time," highlighting the pioneering spirit between 1847 and 1897 when the railway made the wagon train obsolete. A written explanation would be nice for all entries to give visitors an explanation or history of the quilt. Inherited quilts are especially welcome and will be exhibited free of registration charge. Visitors will have the opportunity to win an appliqued baby quilt and gift basket and to vote for the People's Choice Award. Visitors are Genealogy classes offered at Family History Center The Utah Valley Family History Center will offer classes on the second and fourth Sundays in July.
