Show Obituaries Citizen, Free Press, Review - Wednesday, March 12, 1997 - Page 10 Now is the time Carl (Cap) Parry Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Carl Alton (Cap) Parry, 70, passed away March 7, 1997 at his home in Pleasant from Grove 'cancer. ' Carl was in born Bluffdale on Jan. 8, 1927 to ;Nellie Jo Tall Heber and Charles Parry. he married Janet Holmes Aug. 8, .1953 in Elko, Nev. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS temple. He was a wonderful husband and father and adored his grandchildren: Arica, Ashton, Abby, IColton, Chase, Conner and Nikki. Carl worked at Geneva Steel for 35 years. After retirement, he worked for Fish and Game for several years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great ! outdoors. He served his country in the Navy (twice), SeaBees and National Guard. Carl loved the gospel and was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the Explorer program. As Explorer advisor he helped make many kayaks and for many summers took the boys to Shoshone Lake and Snake River. He served in the High Priest Group and presently was serving on the Stake Farm Committee and home teaching. Also, he loved attending the temple. Carl served as president of the Pleasant Grove Sportsman and as a district director for the Utah Wildlife Federation. He also served as an auxiliary policeman. He loved to don his Indian head dress and tell the legend of Timpanogos. Carl's motto, "When it is too tough for everyone else, it is just right for me." My darling, you have climbed the highest mountain with much courage and dignity. Carl is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet; and sons: Wayne, Nephi, Douglas and lovely wife, Linda, Frank and lovely wife, Juli, Pleasant Grove; sisters: Hazel Harrison, Salt Lake City; Dorothy Garside, Ogden; Ardith (Einar) Lund, Riverton; and Phyllis Turner, Huntington. He was preceded in death by a son and grandson, Parker; parents; and brothers, Glen, Arch, Kenneth, Lee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, at 12:30 p.m. in the Battle Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 200 S. 1250 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call at the church one and one-hahours before the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City lf Cemetery. Anthony Glen Murray, 29, a Malmstrom staff sergeant, died Sunday, March 2, at his home. Murray was born Feb. 5, 1968 in Salt Lake City and attended school in Missouri. In 1993 he married Pamela J. Boeckel in Couer d'Alene, Idaho. At the time of his death he was a staff sergeant on active duty at Malmstrom and also worked as a driver for Pizza Hut. part-tim- e He enjoyed golf, skiing and playing cards. Survivors include his wife of Great Falls, Mont.; a stepson, Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy J. Meranda, 65, of Lindon, passed away Sunday, March 9, 1997. She was born Feb. 29, 1932 in 'V ,,' Custer, South to Dakota, Hebert T. and Ruth Va n V 1 e c k Moore. She was raised in Custer, South Dakota and moved to American Fork when she was 12 years old. She graduated from American Fork High School in 1950. She married Stephen Meranda Nov. 25, 1950 in Elko, Nev. She for 21 years, worked for Coca-Col- a retiring in 1992. She loved to travel with her Jeremy Boeckel, Great Falls, Mont.; his parents, Glen and Diane Murray of Lakewood, Colo.; five sisters: Berlinda Jo Harris, Doris Lineberry, Loretta Huebner and Cathy Murray, all of Missouri; and Melanie Wieland, Lakewood, Colo; two brothers: Mike Wieland and Doug Wieland, Denver, Colo. husband. Her passion was her family and she devoted her life to ball games and family She is survived by her husband of Lindon; four sons: S. Dyke (Kim) Michael Meranda, Santaquin; (Patricia) Meranda, West Jordan; Daniel J. Meranda, Pleasant Grove; Todd A. (Lisa) Meranda, 10 Orem; grandchildren. Additional survivors include a brother, James H. Moore, Spokane, Wash. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 500 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove.
