She was the light of her parents life, always full or energy and enthusiasm. She was an outstanding student and always took an active interest in her education. At the time of her death she was a junior at Utah State University, majoring in child and family development, and expected to be graduated in the spring of 1998. She had recently been inducted into the Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society. At the end of her grade school years she was awarded the Presidential Academic Fitness Award, the Hope of America Award, and the class Citizenship Award. Also during these early years she developed a love for dance, which was always a large part of her life. She was chosen to be in the Gifted and Talented Program, in the performing arts the summer after sixth grade. She was well liked by her fellow students, being elected seventh grade class president at South Ogden Our beloved father and grandfather passed away Oct. 27, 1996 after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. He was born Dec. 7, 1915 in West Frankfurt, 111., to Edward and Mamie Melvin Kerley. He married Peggy Petersen. They were later divorced. He then married Lois Greenland. Grandma preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 1994. Our father joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. in Illinois. He transferred to Utah in 1937. He helped with the construction of Geneva. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1978 with 30 years of service. He served as an assistant scout leader and helped out in numerous positions within the church. Dad enjoyed fishing and hunting in the great outdoors. He had a great love for his family. He also had a great love for animals, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. She was always on the honor roll at South and Bonneville, and a member of their Honor Societies, and qualified for the Early College at Weber State Program University during her senior year. Adrienne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da-y Saints and had been actively studying the gospel in the months before her death. She was a youth leader in the Young Women's program, and had been president of her MiaMaid class. She graduated from Bonneville LDS Seminary the same year as her high school graduation, a 1995. She is survived by her grandThomson, Phyllis parents, Pleasant Grove; Wayne and Grace Cornaby, South Ogden; her parents of South Ogden; her four sisters who were her best friends: Holly Johnston, South Ogden; Mrs. J. (Britt) Herron, Lake Forest, Calif.; Leslie Thomson and Megan Thomson, both of South Ogden; and a nephew, Braxton Johnston, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Talmage Maiben Thomson. Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 24, in the South Ogden 8th Ward Chapel. Nolan worked as an administrator of nursing homes and retirement centers, where he showed great love and compassion for the elderly. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Elders Quorum president, counselor in three bishoprics, stake Executive Secretary and on the High Council. He is survived by five children: L. (Cathy) Michael Healey, Kaysville; Shawn P. (Cindy) Healey, Mesq'iite, Nev.; Eric C. (AnnaLisa) Healey, Alex C. Healey and Jacqueline Healey, all of American Fork; parents: Marion Young 1943 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died July 12, 1982. He later married Laura Ann Van Wagoner Oct. 15, 1987 in Pleasant Grove. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife of Boren thank you and Norma Healey, a brother and two sisters: Jay C. (Julie) Healey, Sandra (Kenneth) Walker, all of Alpine; Tamera (Stan) Dubois, Lehi; two grandsons: Jacob and Nathan Healey. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Alpine Mountainville Chapel with Bishop Alan Gillman conducting. The family prayer was by Stanley K. Dubois, prelude and postlude music was by Bill Kirkpatrick and the invocation was by Reid Greenwood. The life sketch was given by Anita Healey, followed by speaker President Leland Priday. Jacqueline Healey played a piano solo, followed by speaker Bishop J. Ralph Binnall. A musical number was presented by a male quartet consisting of Vern Clark, Thayne Bateman, Ronald Strong and Howard Adamson. The benediction was by Lou Hall and the dedication of the grave was by Jay C. Healey. The family would like to thank the caring nurses and doctors at American Fork Hospital.
