Dr. Shane Powell honored Shane Keith Powell, grandson of Keith and Maxine Powell ofLehi, recently received his medical degree from the University of Utah, as well as the Alumni Award from the School of Medicine. The award is presented to the medical student who"demonstrates the combination of academic achievement, leadership ability and community concern that makes an exemplary physician." Shane was president of his second year medical school class, and is currently the president of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society at the University of Utah College of Med- icine. He is a captain in the U.S. Air Force and will do his internship at David Grant Hospital in northern California. He also served an LDS mission in Korea. In the same graduation ceremony, his wife received a bachelor of science degree in medical technolog- Off Each BUnd Wyatt Edwin Cutler, son of Edwin Service Award and was a member of the State Constitution Knowledge I if ;pj S00 Point, New York. He received nominations to the academy from both Senator Orrin Hatch and Congressman Bill Orton. He will enter West Point on June 27. Wyatt is a recent graduate of Lehi High School, where he served as studentbody president his senior varsity year. He was a four-yea- r starter and letterman for the LHS football team. He also served as team captain his senior year. He also lettered two years in basketball and three years in track. He was a member of Encore Choir for two years and played in the band for one year. He participated in the Utah Freedom Academy in 1993 and was a member of the National Honor Society for two years. He graduated from Lehi High School with high honors with a 3.99 GPA. He is an Eagle Scout and an active member of the LDS Church. Wyatt signed in February to play r v. ' Come Celebrate Wth Us! football for Army. He was recruited as a running back and kickoff and punt return specialist. He is excited to play against teams such as Notre Dame, Washington and Boston College. He said he decided on West Point becauso of the quality of education he will receive, ranked in the top five in the nation, and the quality of their football program. Holly Otto, Lehi High Class of 1990, graduated from Vassar College in New York last week.
