Trent also received recognition for earning all 20 activity badges. Also while in Cub Scouting, Trent earned his Faith in God Award. He will be a sixth grade student at Sego Lily Elementary. They were married July 31, 1943. The marriage was solemnized two years later in the LDS Temple. As converts to the LDS Church they came to Utah from Wisconsin and Texas. They met, married and returned in 1947 to Utah. They have worked in scouting since coming to Utah Valley. Andy was a scoutmaster for 27 years and earned double Silver Beaver awards. He has helped over 75 Eagle scouts. Madge Tuckett will celebrate her 80th birthday Sunday, Aug. 15 with an open house at her home. It will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at 818 N. 100 East, American Fork. He served in the California San Jose LDS Mission. He is employed at UPS in Salt Lake City. The couple will make their first home in Provo. Verna Peterson to be honored on 80th birthday Verna C. Peterson will be honored on her eightieth birthday, Saturday, Aug. 14, with a family birthday party. Verna was born in Fairfield, Utah, Aug. 14, 1913. She was the second child born to James Abram and Julia Murrel Cook Carson. She has three sisters and three brothers, Nora Murrel, James Herbert, Ada Kaziah (they all died as young children),andMrs.RobertS.(Ruby) Wilson, Lehi, Harry E. Carson, Orem, and Neil C. Carson, Lehi. She was educated in Fairfield until she reached the ninth grade. She then attended high school in Lehi, graduating in 1931. She married Alma M. Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple on January 16, 1935. Her eternal companion passed away July 5, 1983. They were blessed with three children, Alma Kent Peterson, Mrs. William G. (Kaye) Powell, both of Lehi, and Mrs. Kenneth E.(Vea Lynn) Jarvis of Pleasant Grove. She also has six grandsons, Lonne K. and Layne A. Peterson, GregW. and Brent J. Powell, Jason E. and Micah B.J.
