Mr. Smith was born March 27, 1909, to William B. and Ellen Smith in Alpine. He attended local school and helped his father raise sheep until he graduated from American Fork High School in Steel's Geneva Plant for 27 years. These students were honored last week, together with other winners from throughout Alpine School District, by the Region K PTA which encompasses Alpine District. He has two children, Edwin B. Smith, Taylorsville, and Jeannine Clark, West Valley City. He also has six grandchildren and one 1928. He later married and moved to Idaho to work for his brother-in-lafor 10 years.
