Show Free Press - Wednesday, March 22,1989- - Page 3 New bishopric named for 12th Ward Easter Fashions Under the direction of the Lehi West Stake Presidency, with President Boyd Stewart presiding and conducting, a new bishopric was sustained Sunday morning in the Lehi 12th Ward. They include David W. Holbrook, Bishop, with Ralph A. Baer, 1st Counselor and Lynn M. Nielsen, 2nd counselor. Dwayne McDaniel was sustained as Executive Secretary and Brent Sanderson, Ward Clerk. Also sustained was Mark Price, assistant ward clerk. Members of the outgoing Bishopric include Gary Gray, Bishop, with Bruce Peterson and Doug Yates, counselors; Dwayne McDaniel, Ward Clerk and Kent Grover, Executive Secretary. Bishop Holbrook is a Lehi native, the son of June and the late Garn Holbrook. He graduated from Lehi High School, attended the University of Utah and graduated from BYU with a degree in Computer Science. He served a mission to Switzerland. He is employed by Unisys as a manager. For the last 20 years he has been a member of the Utah National Guard and currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel. Bishop Holbrook has been active in church affairs and has served as Scoutmaster, Committee Chairman, Elder's Quorum President, a member of the Stake Seventy Quorum and at the time ofthis calling was serving as a member of the Lehi West Stake High Council. He is married to the former Birgitta Nyberg and they are the parents of six children. Ralph A. Baer is a native of Logan, Utah, the son of Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Baer of Salt Lake City. He has four sisters and three brothers. He served a mission to Virginia and North Carolina. The lpvely affair was held last Wednesday at the Lehi Stake Center. Several officers of the national SUP were present and they were introduced by John. Rockwell, chairman of the banquet. Rockwell is a descendant of Porter Rockwell, frontiersman and bodyguard for Joseph Smith. He has six brothers and two sisters. He is a graduate of American Fork High School and Utah Valley Community College. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He is active in Church callings and has served as a counselor in the Sunday School, Elder's Quorum counselor and secretary, Ward Clerk and Assistant Ward Clerk. Brent Sanderson grew up in New clinic to open for immunizations A new immunization clinic in north Orem will open April 3. The clinic, operated by the City- County Health Department of Utah County will offer immunizations, and will be located at 1549 North State Street, No. 107, in Orem (near Macey's). The clinic will be operated continuously from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. but Monday through Friday appointments must be made for immunizations by calling 379- state-require- 8730. The department will also sponsor a special Saturday clinic April 15 from 10 a.m. to2p.m.atitsmain office, 589 S. State Street (900 East 600 South) in Provo. He is married to the former Lynette Dean of Midvale and they are the parents of seven children. Lynn M. Nielsen was born in Logan, Utah to Ruby Moser Nielsen Lee and the late Vernon K. Nielsen. His early years were spent in Bancroft and Goshen, Idaho, and in Provo, Utah. He attended junior and senior high school in Lehi, graduating from Lehi High School. He attended Utah State University and graduated from B.Y.U. He has taught elementary school in the Murray School District for the past 28 years. He served a mission in the Southern States and has held various ward and stake positions.
