The Utah Regional Ballet is a nonprofit corporation which gives Utah County dancers between the ages of 12 and 21 the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences as part of their dance training and growth. This is the company's sixth year of performing the "Nutcracker" for local audiences. The local ballet group is a performing member of the prestigious Pacific Regional Ballet Association, an affiliate of Dance America, the Association of Regional Ballet, New ' The performance, which includes matinees on Dec. 20 and 23 and a special Family Night performance at 5 p.m. on Dec. 22, will be held at deJong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU. . The "Nutcracker" is a Christmas tradition for audiences around the world. The story is a heartwarming drama of music and dance which transforms a young girl's Christmas eve dream into a flurry of theatrical reality. The ballet is complete in two acts with four beautiful scene changes. Scenery has been designed by local artist, Bill Kirkpatrick. Each scene depicts the magic of this Christmas fairytale. ' Costumes are designed and executed by Sarah B. Price and will enhance the production with sophisticated charm. The year, all evening performances by the Utah Regional Ballet will be accompanied by a special Ballet Symphony Orchestra organized and conducted by Dr. Ralph G. Laycock. Tickets will go on sale Dec. 1 at the Music Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU. Tickets may also be reserved by calling December 11th .
