The purpose behind the march is to help keep the public informed on the progress of the fight against birth defects, and to raise needed funds for the March of Dimes," Mrs. Woodcox said. Mothers March, the campaign of the March of Dimes, has been raising money since the days when the March of Dimes was seeking a cure for polio. Funds from those marches supported researchers such as Jonas Salk who discovered a vaccine for the disease. Since 1958, the March of Dimes and Mothers March has been funding the progress made in preventing and treating congenital defects. A Mothers Luncheon for all Lehi women involved in the march will be held Jan. 15th at the Colonial House, 187 West Main.
