He was born in Aug. 1, 1903, 756 - 3539 Alberta, MacGrath, Canada, a son of Joseph and poultry farmer. He served as a missionary and a bishop of the Lehi Fifth Ward for six years, served on the Lehi Slake High Council for 20 years. Mr. Goates also served as High Priest Group Leader. He was a Provo Temple ordinance worker, he was a former Lions Club member and was a member of the Utah National Guard. Survivors include his wife, Lehi; two sons and two daughters; LaMar to Hawaii 81062 SO- ii-- in 1925 1974. He was lilfffAr - Evans Clara Goates. He married Marie Phillips, June 1, 1932, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Feb. 28, 1971. He married Georgida Udell Manning, Dec. 6, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple.
