That was when you could gel cough syrup and a dose of free advice from your friendly pharmacist. Gone is the soda fountain, ice cream chairs and cuddle-clos- e counter. The only sodas come from a can and the ice cream comes on a stick. But, the Lehi Drug Store has kept that friendly image of yesteryear. Even though Abe and company have modernized and stocked the store with a variety of new and slick merchandise, the atmosphere and friendliness is still there in rich abundance. Jn 1916 Gerald Taylor passed the State Board of Pharmacy and purchased the Merrihew Drug from M. Bert Merrihew. In 1919 he r organized it and incorporated it in the name of Lehi Drug Company. At that time it was located on the northeast corner of Main and First West, the present location of Dalley's Jewelry and previous location of the State Bank of Lehi. The store location was traded to the bank for the Garff Building and the theater next door. The theater was operated for two years then leased to Cliff Miller who operated it under the name" of the Cozy Theater. It was later changed to the Utah Theater. The Graff Building was the home of the Lehi Drug for many years. In 1921 Gerald's brother Stanley, took a two-yecorrespondence course and with the help of Gerald, passes the State Board and joined his brother in the drug business. They purchased property on State Street and built the State Street Drug which Stanley operated as part of the corporation.
