The Provident program. It was decided we should join forces with the program already established in the Lehi Stake. It's been a spiritual treat All participants are most enthused. Although our population growth has slowed it appears our spiritual growth has accelerated. For this we are most grateful. Our members accepted the meeting time schedule change eagerly and demonstrated their enthusiasm by markedly increasing meeting attendance. World conditions, however, continue to cause great concern. It seems evident the family is our sole hope. Tremendous responsibilities are upon the shoulders of our families. We must teach the Gospel to the world, defend the principles of the Constitution against the powers of evil, and live a celestial life in a world saturated with telestial behavior and ideology. We need the strength of the Lord to meet these challenges. Our message is the prayer that this Christmas season will be a time of spiritual rejuvenation to help us successfully meet the future. President F. Russell Hakes President G. Dale Burgess President Johnny Lee Barnes Family Living Achievement Program was unique. Each individual was to judge himself; there was no other competition. The program was broad - divided into 12 categories. Each listed from 12 to 23 possible achievements, plus the option to add others as desired. Those who utilized the program found it challenging, fun, exciting, and most important, an excellent tool for building family-oriente- family solidarity. Now we are putting the finishing touches on an expanded program for 1981. Economic factors slowed our population growth but didn't stop it. A milestone in our goal to prepare for the r growth was the completion of our stake-sizin Lehi northwest building (1920 North 500 West). The Third and Fifteenth Wards began meeting there in July. In August we hosted our high school age youth to their annual appreciation banquet in the new building's carpeted cultural hall. And, in November we held our Stake Conference there. The huge crowd was obviously pleased with their efforts. We expect to dedicate it shortly after the mid-yea- e Itv Hulli t'Mrlit In the words of Henry Van Dyke, "We shall grow old, but lose life's zest. Lehi Seniors may be getting older in years but they are still active, enthused and ready for new experiences. Inflation has curtailed some of our travels but we have thoroughly enjoyed what we've had. In the spring a group went to the desert to see the early bloom, visited Scotty's Castle and all interesting points in between, like Las Vegas, the Valley of Fire and Lost City . ill M Mat tlii Im- - liolila to . w ay filled with ali rliarrn of Ticrili'l renu-nilM-- r. It is a work group where they raise enough produce to sustain themselves. Those in the monastery proper are of the complete silence and devotional order. The Monks outside were very helpful and friendly. Some of the Senior Citizens have purchased season tickets to the BYU plays.
