Clark Observes Eightieth Birthday Melba Goates Clark observed her 80th birthday on Sept 30. She was born in Lehi to Joseph and Clara Goates. She attended schools here and graduated from LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She became the wife of Glen Clark on June 11, 1925. He died three years later leaving her to raise two small children. She worked in the State Bank of Lehi, retiring after 32 years of loyal service. A diligent worker and an active member of the LDS Church, she has worked in all organizations and is still a visiting teacher. She quilts beautifully and takes care of her home and yard. An avid gardener, she loves flowers and her yard is a joy to behold. She helps her family in many ways, treating them often to her delicious rolls. Her children are Mrs. Richard (Jean) Christofferson, Lehi, and Earl Clark of Highland. There are 12 loving grandchildren, one deceased. She also has five great grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters are Warren L Goates, Lehi, Lorin W. Goates, Parma, Idaho, and Mrs. Norvin (LuPriel) Brown of American Fork.
