Show FERTILE TIMES - MAY 1993- 3 — Castle Valley Road Committee Report At our April meeting, committee members Ron Drake, Hank Freeman and Joan Sangree discussed the following issues: 1) Ron is continuing the process of renaming some of the side roads. He has chairpeople for several roads but needs other volunteers. The chairpeople will be gathering names for their road with the intent of choosing a name all residents/owners like. The fire department and others have requested alphabetizing the side roads beginning with Amber Lane and going up the Valley. Contact Ron for the name of your chairperson. Out-of-town owners are encouraged to participate. 2) The idea of a master plan for our road easement treatments was proposed by Ed Derderian. Amount of Council meeting. The timing also coincides with preparing CV Drive for paving through dedication to the Town and subsequently to Grand County. 5) ROAD DEDICATION: You will be receiving a letter and ballot in the mail regarding the dedication of Castle Valley Drive to the Town of Castle Valley. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT EVERYONE RETURN THEIR BALLOT IF WE WANT CV June 30, 1993. Interested parties are encouraged to notify Mayor John Groo or Road Committee members. A formal job description will be verified by the Town Council at our June meeting and will be advertised here and in the Times-Independent. A tentative list of duties is currently available from John or myself. The May Road Committee meeting will be held Thursday, May 20. —Joan Sangree Chair, Roads Committee DRIVE PAVED. Our Grand County grading and shoulder treatment (for example: vegetation in the irrigated areas, no vegetation in the higher fire hazard areas) would be issues addressed in this master plan. Ed was assigned the task of organizing his neighborhood regarding their preferences. This is to be a pilot project regarding a master plan. It sounds to me like Castle Valley Drive will be paved. , I do not mind that much except for one thing: drivers will go too fast " ‘ because it is paved, and what about the kids? I think we should have a bike path. That way there won’t be as much danger and kids can bicycle without having to worry about cars coming up from behind. So if we’re going to pave the road, let’s make a bike path too. |
