In their first meet in Payson, the Pioneers were overcome by the practiced Lions. Last week saw a different Lehi effort, with both teams winning in a triangular meet with North Summit and Morgan in the first home meet of the year. another state championship? Lehi (Linda Lott, Missy Colledge, Lily Southwick, Lynette Morgan), On Saturday, April 1, Lehi's boys' team won the small school title of the Dixie Invitational Track Meet held in St. George. With each meet the Pioneers look stronger. In the triangular meet last week, the Pioneers romped over their opponents, with the girls snatching 75 points against 57 for North Summit and Morgan with 18. Kelly Crittenden paced the girls, with wins in the 100 and dashes. Her younger sister, Cyndee, also teamed to gain a team first in the 440 relay and mile relay. The Pioneers medley team captured another first. The team is comprised of Linda Lott, Missy Colledge, Lily 4:46.3. 220- - Kelly Crittenden, Cindee Crittenden, Lehi; Lehi; 28.5 seconds. 880- - 1. How about event belonging to the Pioneers. Lehi walked away from the other competitors, scoring 98 and a half points, North Summit was second with 45 and a half, and Morgan was Tiaras in the basement with 35. Second place spots went to Poulsen, 880; Gordon Ray, 100 yd. dash; David Devey, 220; Mont Poulsen, Troy Worthen, shot put; and Robert Stanley, discus. The Pioneer baseball team defeated the American Fork Cavemen for the second time this season last Wednesday afternoon. The first encounter saw Lehi whomping the Cavemen in the season opener, 13-This game was much closer. So close, in fact, that it was the last inning, and two outs for the Pioneers before a last effort drive captured the ,'vWiMLa A t! I the Region 7 Gymnastics Meet last Saturday were members of the Lehi High Girls Gymnastics Team. He reached first on a shortshop blown throw, advanced to second on a Bart and sacrifice, Manning finished the gauntlet on a Kevin Colledge double. Two costly Lehi errors gave the Cavemen the edge 1 at the end of the inning. The sixth inning went scoreless, but it was only a breather for the final one. The 1 Pioneers were up first. Hansen ' put two Pioneers out before Grant Foster and Merrill Bone blasted consecutive singles to end the stall. Both scored on Jim Lucero's double, to give Lehi the Pioneers the lead played defense during the final half of the inning, saving their perfect record, while gaining a great win. Some good batting was seen during the game,; with Lehi j having three doubles (Lucero ; had two and Colledge one) and American Fork one triple, i Eleven Pioneers were left on base, against six for the Cavemen. Lehi Gymnastics Team Sweeps State Under the coaching of Mrs. Kathryn Chatfield, : the Lehi girls not only won the team trophy but individual medals were won by the girls. Cheryl Porter, a freshman, won a total of 10 medals: four 1st place, three 2nd place, and three 3rd place. The Lehi Girls Gymnastics Team swept State 2A State Tourney last Staurday in Richfield to bring home the state first place trophy. Earlier the team had competed in Region 6 and won that meet. Baseball Kelle Registration Friday and Saturday will be the last time for registration for Mustang, Bronco, or Pony League Basebal. Registration will be t the Lehi City Hall on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. The fee of $10.00 for Mustang; $13.00 for Bronco and $15.00 for Pony, must be paid at time of registration. Besides the above, team members include Kerri Losee, and Michele McCarrel. The Explorers of the Lehi Thirteenth Ward emerged first in stake competition in the recent basketball season.
