Show Bluebell DUP Stake Presidency Extends Greetings to Al Le hi We wish to take this opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation to the members of the Lehi Utah Stake for your support and for the privilege to serve you. This has been a very special year to us as we honor the 200th Birthday of our great nation, and we invite all members of this stake to join with us in expressing thanks and appreciation to our Heavenly Father for the privilege of living in this choice land. We encourage all to rededi-cat- e their efforts to the preservation of our Constitution and n the principles it provides for us. This year we have felt a great urgency to encourage the members of this stake to become actively engaged in home gardening and welfare storage projects. It is our desire that families continue in these activities until they have sufficient welfare commodities to sustain them for at least one year. This year, the church discontinued its General Leadership Conferences for priesthood and auxiliary organizations and replace them with Regional Leadership meet- God-give- The Lehi Utah Stake was privileged to be the host this year for this Regional Conference. The conference was preceded by four evenings of cultural activities, with all stakes in the region participating. This provided a choice opportunity for the youth of this region to display their talents and to associate together. Plans are now under to con - Wishing all Stake members interest each month and promote our special activities such as health clinics as often as needed. Our clinics are very well attended as are our group dinners and travelogs. We enjoy our day trips to surrounding areas also our special events such as good plays, dance festivals, the circus, ice follies and whatever else is available in our price range. We have had some enjoyable bus trips to interesting parts of our country for those who were able to go. All this for those wonderful people who have reached what is called the "slowing down age," all needing companionship and association on their own level. But let me tell you, there is nothing slow about them, they are the most active people around and loaded with wisdom and talent. All we do would not Year's Activities a Happy in our stake. This chapel would replace the Second and Fifth ward chapels. There are many of us who are reluctant to say goodbuy to these chapels that have helped provide for us many spiritual experiences through the years, but we accept the counsel of the Church Building Committee who have informed us that the physical conditions of these buildinsgs are no longer worthy of church funds. ? Recently the Thirteen Ward Bishopric was reorganized. We express our thanks and appre- ciation to Bishop McDowell and those who served with him for their dedication and service, and we pledge our support to the new bishopric. This year we feel an need for heads of families to strengthen family unity in the home. We encour- g be much without the whole-harteenthusiastic support of these "special people". There are so many we need to thank who help make this program what it is. The Eldred Foundation for their much appreciated assistance each year. Our own city officials who are always willing to help in so many ways; the American Legion for sharing their facilities with us. The junior and senior high schools for programs, special plays and the use of their dining rooms each month. We'd like to give a special thanks to our ward chairmen and cooking committee who are always there when needed at clinics; to help serve the daily meals, to those who come to enjoy the friendly associations as well as a good meal. They cook and serve our group dinner and travelogs lunches and help in numerous ways to keep us running smoothly. Their only pay is the appreciation of those they serve. At this season of the year we give our thanks for letting us be useful and say to all Senior Citizens in our town, may you have an enjoyable Christmas and a healthful, happy and prosperous New Year and in the words of Tiny Tim, "God Bless us everyone!" age all families of this stake to take advantage of the family home evening program, and to become engaged in activities that will strengthen the family. We remind all of the wisdom of President McKay's counsel, "No amount of success can compensate for failure in the home." Now as we approach the close of this wonderful year and the beginning of the yule-tid- e season, it is fitting that we gels. Let us glorify God by seeking the way of eternal life that he has provided for us. Let us strive to establish Peace on Earth by exercising the same good will toward one another that God has shown to us. '. " Let us show the true spirit of Christmas by giving happiness to others and by providing to our families the Savior's gift of a new and better life. , Let us join with the Heavenly Hosts in praising God and promoting Peace on Earth and Goodwill Toward All Men. His example is service to others, with loving kindness and mercy he willingly gave His life to save each one of us. LEHI STAKE PRESIDENCY Lehi Senior Citizens Look Back on Successful Year by Ruth Curtis Our Lehi Senior Citizen Group has had a most successful year because we have a very special group to work with. We are proud of our Lehi Senior Citizens, their friendliness and cooperation. We also have such a devoted chairman and wife, B.J. and Violet Lott. They truly have the interest of the Senior Citizens at heart and do the work entirely on a volunteer basis. We try to plan something of Camp Reports son "Events of 1876" was given by Irene Wilson.
