Lehi Elementary Is Huge Success The Lehi Elementary School TTA officers report that they are well pleased .with the success of parents' visiting day. Mar. 11. From an estimated 304 families who have children attending the Elementary School, nearly 100 per cent of the parents attended. A special effort has been made in the past to get the fathers to visit school on this day, and this year the response was outstanding. No motions will be entertained and no business will be transacted at these meetings. Dr. Burton states that the first of these discussion meetings will be held on Mar. 19, 1959, at 7:30 p.m. The general public is cordially invited to attend this meeting and also all subsequent discussion meetings. No definite date will' be set for the discussion meetings, but advance notice of times when these meetings will be held, will be given to the public through the schools and the local presses. Mary A. Featherstone Rates High in Scholarship Contest Miss Mary Ann Featherstone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mont A. Pulham, has recently been named as first alternate in the Ladies of the Elks Nursing Scholarship state contest. Ten other girls from the Provo Region applied for this scholarship, but Miss Featherstone was selected to represent this region in the final selections. On March 4. 1776, the newly-forme- d Marine Corps saw its first combat when 300 Marines landed and captured the British port of New Providence, Bahamas. At a meeting held last Monday evening, the PTA officers approved the purchase of $50 worth of film strip to be used for educational purposes at the school. The money for this project will be taken from the year's PTA funds. In addition, the officers selected a nominating committee which includes Mrs. Ardith Ferovich, Chairman, representing the PTA; Mrs. Arva Bone, representing the school teachers; and Myrton Grant, who will represent the parents. This committee will choose six nominess to run for next year's officers in the election to be held April 20.
