Show THE LEHI FREE PRESS, LEHI, UTAH unior Prom bills submitted and sponsored jointly by the Utah Department of Fish and Game and the Utah Wildlife Federation were passed during the recently ended 33rd session of the Legislature. Bills failing to get approval of the legislators include one which would have given aliens the right to hunt; one reducing the residency requirements from one year to six months prior to purchase of fish and game licenses; and one which would have increased the fees paid to license agents for selling fish and game licenses.. A fourth bill to set a minimum fine provision of $25 in the fish and game code was killed in the Senate. The ten bills passed by" both houses include the following: An act amending present law which further accents the legal requirement to gain permission before entering upon private land. A companion act to the trespass law setting penalities for destruction or multilation of posted signs, fences and gates. A bill removing the four year tenure of, office provision from the position of director of the department and setting a maximum of $10,600.00 to be paid the director. An act giving the fish and game commission authority to enter into reciprocal licensing and management agreements with bordering states. A bill providing that it shall be ilegal to carry in any vehicle any gun having a loaded cartridge in the firing chamber. Excepted from the act are peace officers in performance of their duties and persons with special permits to carry a loaded gun in protection of life and property. An act setting up new license fees for nonresident juvenile anglers. The new law allows such juveniles under twelve years of age to angle without a license provided they are in company of a licensed angler and that any fish caught by them be included in the limit of such licensed angler. It further provides that such nonresident juveniles, ages twelve through fifteen, may purchase anTen of 14 tre-pa- gling licenses at $2 for five-da- ss y for the season. The latter costs for nonresidents 16 years of age and older remain at $4 for five days, $10 for the seapermits, $5 The new 1 1959 fish and game license issue will be in the hands some of license 500 agents1. throughout the state by April This announcement came from department of fish and game offices today as spokesmen reminded that beginning April 16, a proper issue of the new license must be worn visibly by early eason and anglers whatever others afield. The new licenses show a change in color this year with the various types for residents being printed on yellow paper, the nonresident licenses on pink, paper. The change from the usual use of white paper was made for the purposes of identification and to answer complaints concerning the danger factors, real or imagined, during the deer seasons.
