APRIL 88, 1955 Lehila Club Elects Family Gathers to Honor David Peterson New Officers Snow Springs DUP Camp Honors Mother, Daughter Plans Progress For Fashion Show and Tea Plans are going forward for an outstanding fashion show tea, to be held Saturday, May 14, at the elementary school. The show, sponsored by the Lehila Club as a special project benefit, will begin at 2 p. m. Local models will be provided through the direction of the local Federated Clubs. Funds will go toward the establishment of an ice skating rink at the Veteran's Ball Park, in cooperation with the veterans' groups. The top fashions will be shown all for all occasions, including ages from infants to grandparents. A special section for teen agers will be featured. Bathing suits, sports and play clothes will be shown as well as the more formal attire. Local merchants are cooperating in furnishing the clothing and will also door attractive furnish some Winners be must present prizes. to receive the prizes. Musical selections will add to the occasion and refreshments will be served. Tickets are available through Federated Club members. Mrs. Herbert Johnson will serve as general chairman for the tea, assisted by Mrs. Don Southwick, Mrs. Elmo Russon, program; tickets; Mrs. Leo Hadfield, refreshments, and Mrs. Glenn E. Smith, publicity. Maude Udell Honored by Family Mrs. On 80th Birthday Mrs. Maude Udell, who continues spry and active, reached her 80th milestone, April 25. She was honored at a family party at the home of her son, Dean Udell, Sunday. Long active in the YLMIA presidency, Mrs. Udell continues a regular attendant at church services. She assists in caring for the home in which she is accompanied by her daughter Georg-idMr. and Mrs. Harry Manning and family. A resident of Lehi for the past 38 years, Mrs. Udell is a granddaughter of Jacob Hamblin, widely known for his successful relations and fair dealings with the Indians. She was born in Kanab, Utah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stewart, who formerly resided at Alamo, Nevada. She lived for a time in Eureko. Mr. Udell died several years ago. Of her six children, three are living, Dean Udell and Mrs. Manning of Lehi, and Arland Udell of Salt Lake City. All were present for the occasion with their families. Included were the Dean Udells, Bob, Cheri, Kristine, Kathie and Kent, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Udell and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Manning, Laura and Jenna, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Russon (LuAnn) and baby Kenna Lou; and Mr. and Mrs. Arland Udell. There are 18 grandchildren and 6 a, Mrs. Ruby Meredith, recuperating after a serious heart operation, was jointly honored with her mother, Mrs. Flora Zimmerman, at the meeting of the Snow Springs DUP Camp, last Thursday. The meeting was held at the Meredith home with Captain Mrs. Olive Leany in charge. Leany, Ruth Johnson and Leota Peterson were in charge of refreshments. Group singing, directed by Maude Glover, was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Delcie Francom, visiting from Levan. Rose Lott gave the lesson on the Mormon Battalion. ThirdSeventh Ward Choirs to Sponsor Benefit Dance The choirs of the.. Third and Seventh wards are sponsoring a dance to be held Friday, April 29, in the ward recreation halL Combined with regular ballroom dancing will be square dancing inKarl struction conducted by Jones. Good music will be provided and refreshments will be sold. Everyone, young and old, is invited to come out for an enjoyable evening. Homes are being contacted in the ticket sale, with admission set at 25 cents. All proceeds will go toward the organ fund in the hope of installing an organ in the chapel by the time of the dedication of the beautiful new building. The committee in charge includes the ward choir organizations: Wayne Frances Carlton, president, Trinnaman, director and Evelyn Slater, organist of the Third Ward; Winifred Sorenson, president, Donna Mitchell, director, and Ruby Nielsen, accompanist of the Seventh Ward. The Primaries of both wards will prepare the refreshments under the direction of the presidents, Mrs. Eona Larsen, Third, and Mrs. Nadine Gray, Seventh wards.
