Show t.r.rn THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 1955 1H DANCE Water prospects for the summer months look very favorable for this area, based on reports of snow and water measurements in the American Fork Canyon area as reported by the Federal-Stat- e ladies ridThe Equestri-Annefirst ride hold the will club, ing of the season, Monday, April 18. They will meet at the rodeo grounds at 10 a. m. Each one is asked to bring her own lunch. Any lady riders wishing to join the club or anyone who wishes to participate in the ride is cordially invited to join the group at that time, and get acquainted. The offcers met at the home of Captain Jolene McKinney, last s, Cooperative Snow Survey. A report on the measurements was received Monday by Herman C. Goates, secretary of the Lehi Irrigation Company. The reports are made each year on the first of January, February, March and April to forecast summer water conditions. The most recent report received by Mr. Goates is based on measurements made April 1, and therefore does not include the most recent storm which deposited heavy snows in the canyon area. It is believed that these storms will bring the anticipated runoff practically up to normal. Although snow measurements and water content are higher than the average in every case, Mr. Goates pointed out that drouth conditions last year will Wednesday, to discuss the season's program. President Wilma Greenwood took charge and refreshments were served. The club continues as an association member club and will participate in district and state meets again this year. Mrs. J. N. Patton, (a sister) of is visiting Anaheim, California, here with Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Smith. Also joining the Smiths as Easter Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. G. W. The measure run-of- f in American Fork River last year was 22,000 acre feet of water. The forecast for this year is an estimated 33,000 acre feet or 86 per cent of normal. The normal runoff 30,000 acre feet. These figures show the anticipated runoff to be nearly double last year's runoff, and it should be remembered that they do not take into account the most recent storms. Should we have average rainfall this summer, we should be in good condition as far as water is concerned, Mr. Goates concluded. Gunther's Merits Lennox Award The Gunther Sheet Metal Co. recently received an award of merit from the Lennox Furnace Co. The award is in the form of a handsomely encased bronzed plaque. It was presented to Gunther in recognition of having met the exacting requirements and qualifications to install and service Lennox indoor comfort systems. Mr. Gunther of the local heating and air conditioning firm accepted the plaque from A. D. of the Lennox Furnace Co., which is the largest concern of its kind in the world. In making the presentation, Mr. Wiscomb said, "We have always been pleased with our association with Gunther Sheet Metal Co. During the 14 years that they have handled Lennox products, they have demonstrated their ab ility to create true indoor comfort through proper heating and cool ing methods. We congratulate Mr. Gunther upon winning this award. We know their conscientious ser vice will continue to win friends for them and Lennox." The Gunther Sheet Metal Co. has been in business in Lehi and American Fork for the past 40 years. Presently it is located at 31 North First West, American Fork. If you are one of the fortunate persons (and there are millions of them) who has central forced air home heating, you are well on the way to summertime air conditioning as well STATE STREET DRUG Why? Because now there is air conditioning equipment on the market that makes use of the heating blower, air filters and air ducts. For instance The Lennox Furnace Company has announced a whole new line of "package" air conditioners "for this very purpose. These small package" units can be installed above, below, or beside a furnace. They can be in the basement, closet, utility room, attic, or crawl space under the house. This new method brings complete air conditioning within reach of the average homeowner. He enjoys cooling for the entire house, not just a room or two. The cost is appreciably less than for a com plete new system. Orville Gunther, local Lennox dealer, says that summer air conditioning is a sound investment for the home as well as for comfort. That's because the air conditioner increases the value of the home, according to Mr. Gunther Most families prefer to invest in air conditioning on a time payment plan. Installation can be made now, and the first payment does not come due until September.
