Curtis were in charge of the awards. President Herman C Goates was the main speaker of the ev ening. He spoke on Scouting in the church and the correlating of the scout work with Priesthood activity. He stated that where an active scout troop is found may also be found a well functioning priesthood quorum. (Inez) Smith was elected to the position of corresponding secretary on the Utah County board' of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, at convention Saturday. Mrs. Smith, who is retiring captain of the Fort Wall Camp, has worked hard to build up camp membership and fill the requirements sent out by the general DUP officers. She played a leading part in sponsoring and putting over DUP programs for both the State and Lehi centennials. Years of clerical work and the gift of beautiful handwriting add to her qualifications for the position. The convention was held in the First Ward church at Provo, with sessions beginning at 10:30 a. m. and 2:00 p. m. and a luncheon at noon. Representatives from the central camp include, Eliza Tingey, Osa Fergusen and Lucille Walker.
