Byron Wilson came off the bench to score 21 points, including six free throws down the stretch, to lead Utah to a 68-5- 1 win over Air Force Thursday. The Ute victory was deja vu of last Thursday's matchup between the two teams in the Huntsman Center where Utah beat the Falcons by the identical score. The triumph lifts Utah to 3 in the WAC and 12-- 5 overall while Air Force falls to 5 in conference play overall. and Dale French and George Irvin had 11 points a piece to lead the Falcons, 2-- 0-- 5-- who shot just 36 percent from the floor for the game. It was Chronicle Sports Writer If you've looked over some of the events the intramural department has to offer and just don't think there's one suited to you, then you might be looking at the wrong singular event. Of the new events being offered this year, the Reebok Campus Challenge is one of the most exciting. Why? Because it constitutes so much that you just can't get bored with it. I'll explain. The Reebok Campus" Challenge is, in a word, a Decathlon. In a less cardiovascular vein (pun intended), we have the event "Horse." For those of you who focused solely on the jungle gyms as a kid during school recess, and don't know the intricacies of this event, I'll spell it out (another pun). Horse is an individual activity where you participate against other individuals by shots with a making basketball. If you do indeed make the shot, .the are you participants are then against competing obliged to make the same shot. ' Failure to do so results in your garnishment of the first letter of the word horse, and iiso on, until you acquire all five letters, thus losing. Superstar Meet: This event is three-folit consists B-B- all d, of the following contests: 1) competition. 2 Hot Shot contest 3) Free Throw contest Contestants must enter all three events in order to compete for the Superstar One-on-O- ne title. This competition should attract anyone interested in basketball, more specifically in interested anyone individual basketball competition. Triviaf Pursuit; Those of you not from the same cut of cloth as the aforementioned, but like to pursue challenges of the mind over those of the body, intramurals do not discriminate and offer something for you the Trivial Pursuit tournament! Jeopardy fans take note. This tournament will be played on Saturday, Feb. 1. The format will be single elimination with the length decided by the number of entries. Unlike other competitions of this sort, like College Bowl, this event will strictly feature individual competition, or a bout if you will. The entry fee is a meager $2, so instead of one-on-o- ne sleeping in on Saturday morning, get up and challenge your mind in a way no college paper or test has ever done. |
