In League I intramural (Tuesdays and Thursdays), the season is still young enough for anything to happen but it appears that the Delta Chi team is the one to beat with two wins and no losses. League II play (Mondays and Wednesdays) also sees some stiff competition from each team as the season is now underway. The Sigma Chi Seminoles appear to be in the catbird seat at this early juncture with two wins also and zero losses, but only time will tell if they can hold this position. League III has two teams that have emerged as front-runne- rs early on, Pogo and NROTC. Both these clubs have records but each with a win 2-- 0 coming from forfeits. Watch for developments forthcoming in this league and others as the season progresses. Justin Peterson Pts. Lacrosse Lacrosse, a sport commonly East associated with upper-clas- s Coast colleges, is more than that, much more. Lacrosse is a sport that originated among the Native American Indians and has maintained its popularity enough in some parts of this continent to be designated as Canada's national sport. The sport has also infiltrated the Wasatch Front and the Toulousse Lacrosse Club is one of the better organized sports clubs here at the University of Utah. "The Toulousse Lacrosse Program has been the highlight of my college career," said Kevin McCann, a player for the club. Don Trischett, a teammate of McCann's echoed similiar sentiments. When pressed on why the sport holds so much appeal to them and others, McCann replied, "It's the fastest game on feet. It's similiar to soccer, hockey and basketball." For this reason, the finesse and physical ability that's required, Lacrosse was the sport McCann and front for good.
