Utah, with its four seasons, is very much like the Soviet Union, Nina said, although the latter is much cooler. At the U., the Boguslavskys are on opposite ends of campus. Mikhail teaches chamber music students while Nina teaches Russian in the language department. 4Te never see each other at the U.," she said. In the Soviet Union, Alikhail said, it is not considered very good to have a husband and wife working the same place because he could protect her, but he and Nina both say they enjoy teaching at the U. Their time schedules are not so hectic that they can't sec each other, Nina said. They also have plenty of time for their son Yuri, a political science sophomore at the U. In addition to teaching, Mikhail plays viola in the Utah Symphony and also teaches individual students. And, "When I get done playing, I listen," he says. Nina also enjoys listening and she and Mikhail arc patrons of other arts as well. Another aspect of education they enjoy is the relationship between teachers and students. Mikhail said that in the Soviet Union there is a big distance between the two. Teachers are very stria and never on the same level u , with students. ' v ih ' - -- r The Boguslavskys enjoy the opportunity to have 1 a "friendly, normal exchange of ideas" with their students, Nina said. While they didn't quite cross an ocean to come to the U., Robert and Dorothy Antrim did come from Colorado where they both attended the University of Northern Colorado and studied theater. J . Although they attended the same school, it wasn't until Robert did his student teaching that he met Dorothy.; ' After looking at almost every theater teacher looking for a good example, Robert said he chose. to student teach for Dorothy because she was the best. ; : Currently, the Antrims both teach theater through the Division of Continuing Education. Between them, some classes taught include improvisation, street theater, auditioning, screen writing and impromptu theater. They are also both involved in the Community Theatre through the Salt Lake Public School system where they more than a Copy. . . i a ,jr ; 4 ) v ! r . ' ?
