U Moire pro football predlSctsom 1 Last week was typical of how this pro football season has been going. The Baltimore Colts beat New England Cincinnati routed the Philadelphia Eagles 37-1- 3 and the y Los Angeles Rams lost to the N.Y. Giants 20-1My record last week was worse than the San Diego' Chargers' defense; I finished with a 5 record. With that record in mind I have thrown away my cloudy crystal ball and have done the logical thing, I bought tarot cards. With all the injuries Cincinnati (2-- at Baltimore (3-these two teams have had one can never tell who's playing from one week to the next. Bert Jones will be playing and the Colts' head coach Ted Marchibroda still thinks they can make the playoffs. The Colts by 4. Cleveland (6-at Philadelphia (6-The Eagles found out how tough the AFC Central is last week by losing to Cincinnati. Cleveland's quarterback Brian Sipe was back in prime form last week in their easy win over St. Louis. The Brown by 3. Dallas (7-Dallas lost to Pittsburgh, at New York (4-and the Giants have won their last four in a row, but the Cowboys have too much experience. The Cowboys by 6. New England (6-- at Buffalo (4-It's a big game for the Bills if they are to make the playoffs and Coach Chuck Knox knows it. The Pats lost a tough one to Baltimore last week but tight end Russ Francis has returned. The Pats by 7. What can I say? Tampa Tampa Bay (72) at Atlanta (3-and Coach me a have made and John McKay Bay I'm not the only one. Ask Minnesota or Chicago. The Falcons could be flat after their Monday night loss to Seattle. The Buccaneers by 5. The way the Steelers Washington (6-- at Pittsburgh (7-last the week was played against Cowboys scary. They're in a of their own. league Washington really can't afford a loss but they have no choice. The Steelers by 9. 31-2- 6, once-might- qOOOO OOOOOOq o "A Day on o o Grandma's House" o o o o o o o o o u ii o iLrtllnJoLrLi o o o Fall Service Project o O sat. r i Bring a Paint Brush O 9 am O 1 Pm O O 4. 6-- 6) 7) 3) 3) 2) 5) 5) 3) 6) Buc-believ- er Or work as much as you can. Kansas City plays well at home but last week against Denver they were flat. The Chargers by 10. The records don't show Minnesota (4-- at St. Louis (2-it but St. Louis is the better team. Coupled with the home field advantage the Cards should win. The Cards by 4. Whoever loses this game N.Y. Jets (4-- at Green Bay (S-Green dashed. It's good-by- e Will have their slim playoff hopes Bay. AFC over NFC again. The Jets by 5. Neither one of these teams Detroit at Chicago (4-have a legitimate quarterback but the Bears have Walter Payton. Bears by 7. Los Angeles (4-- at Seattle (4-Maybe the fact that the Rams are 5 and in danger of missing the playoffs will wake them up. The Seahawks are improving weekly and should be hard to beat. I don't know why but. . . the Rams by 1. This game is typical of New Orleans (5-- at Denver (6-this how difficult it is to pick winners year. Both teams have had fluctuating seasons. The Broncos should win because they're at home. Saints should win because they are hot and fighting for the playoffs. Does anyone have a coin? On the road, they get trounced by teams like the Jets. At home they beat teams like San piego and Denver. It doesn't matter to the 49ers, they can lose anywhere. The 4) 8) Raiders by 8. This game hinges on how Houston (6-- at Miami (6-healthy Earl Campbell is. Without him the Oilers are mediocre. The Dolphins were hit hard by injuries last week in defeating Green Bay, and Campbell is supposed to be healthy so I'll go with him.
