Show The Daily Utah Chronicle, Thursday, November 1, 1979 Pagt Eight Corkroom features Browne Fairbanks flick to launch fest guitarist singersongwriter The Corkroom Coffee- house will feature guitarist, singer and songwriter Bill Browne Friday evening. A skilled musician of diversified tastes, Browne draws upon the influences of many different musical genres to create a personal style of contemporary and traditional American folk and music. His sources of material are folk-roc- k Dylan, Kottke, Buffet, Bromberg, Waits and Log-gin- s and Messina; to which he adds his own compositions. Browne has performed extensively in New England and the Midwest. Since his University Music Department and Utah Symphony present the 22nd annual arrival in Salt Lake City, he has become one of the valley's most popular solo performers with his enthusiasm, his musicianship and his ability to establish a close rapport with his audience. During his Corkroom concert he will perform half the evening a solo and the other half with some band members. The Corkroom is located with HENRI LAZAROF conducting Tuesday, November 6, 8:00 P.M. The longtime Dumas favorite was one of the many adventure films that stamped Fairbanks as the top celluloid films until the antiheroes of the 1960s took over many screens. The film is the first of nine Thursday night films that make up the Silent Flick Festival, sponsored by the Division of Continuing Education.
