The retired couple will troop across the stage of the Bear River high school auditorium next Thursday evening along with senior students years their junior to receive their high school diploma. "You bet we are," was Mrs. Johnson's response when asked if the couple would participate in the formal graduation ceremony. "We worked hard for it," "This will be a day to remember," said her hus- band. "We worked hard for it," he added. "It isn't as easy as when we were kids." Johnson is quick to give this piece of advice to those still in high school. "Go thru school when you're in school." Johnson and his wife, like others, earned their diploma by attending about every adult education class they could enroll in either in Tremonton or Brigham City. "I knew I could do it if they'd give me a chance," he declared. "If we can do it, I know they can," he said referring to today's crop of students. "If kids "say it's boring now, you wait until after awhile," Johnson laughed. Johnson can look back on his work life and point out instances where failure to have that important piece of paper has hurt him. "I've done the job, but they wouldn't give me the raise because I didn't have that piece of paper," he said. "Now I've got it we're retir- ed." What was the hardest part of going back to school. Mrs. "Remembering," Johnson resonded quickly. "As I would go into a class the teacher would mention something and it would flash in front of me," she said.
