When you are greeted at the door with an aroma of freshly cooked chili sauce, you know you are at the home of a "Good ... Cook.". And when the door is opened by Dollie Iverson of Bear River City you definitely know this is who you are looking for. Dollie, (or Mrs. LaMarr Iverson) says "Cooking is not my cup of tea, but I love to can." She says that if she had a specialty it would have to be pickles, -- bread and butter, sweet, dill, mustard or chili sauce. If you were a member of the Iverson clan, you might wake up Christmas morn-jin- g with boxes filled with chili sauce or mustard pickles, lying under your tree. According to Dollie, this is about the best gift she can give her family for Christmas, and they certainly all have their favorites. Next year Mrs. Iverson says they are getting copies of the recipes, not just the pickles, because her family can't expect her to be around forever. La Marr and Dollie Iverson are the parents of quite a large family, eight children. Their family is spread out all over the United States. And, "all over" is not exaggerating too much either, because . the Iversons also have 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Following is a list, of the Iverson children, along with their place of residence: Mrs. Boyd (ZenitH) Hawkes, Bear River City; Mrs. Eugene (Sally) Mabry, Rolling Hills, Calif.; Mrs. Pete (Betty) Misrasi, Garland; Mrs. Robert (Carja) Denison, Cupertino, Calif.; Mrs. Wallace Jeanette) Brown, Huntsville, Alabama; Kelly Iverson, Torrance, Calif.; Gary Iverson, Bear River City; and Mrs. Donald (Larrie Marie) Kelly, Pass Christian, Mississippi. Mrs. Iverson says, "I like having my children live out of state because it means lots of lovely trips." ?The IversortB4irBttaf5na8 'inhe Texas foute and on tb GeWfiSPTom here they drove off the Georgia causeway to the island of St. Simons where one of the daughters is living. "We've had ever so many trips since," Dollie concluded. Bear River City is Dollie's hometown. This is where she was born and raised until the age of eight when her family moved to Elwood. Here she lived with her nine brothers and sisters until she was married. Her husband, LaMarr, is also a Bear River City native. When they were first married, they lived in the San Francisco-OaklanCalifornia area because LaMarr was a strategic iron worker. After living here for a while, they decided to move back to Utah, but when Uncle Sam called at the beginning of WW II, they returned to California. Again, he worked as an iron worker until the children, then only five in number, couldn't stand the tension any longer. Dollie remembers that it was GRUESOME, with all the tall tales, blackouts and war planes. The Iversons returned to Utah at the same time that the Japanese were evacuated. Prior to this time, Dollie had been employed in California as a housekeeper. She earned $50 a month and room and board, which was "dang good wages for that time." She was even recommended to others as a "good plain cook." She also taught school in Idaho and Gear Garland Hack teacher's lesson leader! homemaking teacher in the Relief Society, visiting teacher, and teacher in I every church organization. Cooking is one activity Dollie hates to spend much time at. She said, "I like plain dishes that cook up in a huVry.''
