Ba-dge- tt, The future groom is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and is employed by School District No. 1 as a History and English teach- from Anita graduated Bear River High and Seminary. Class Of '56 Will Hold Reunion her dai liter, Tamara, and son, Brian. Bear River high's class of '56 will hold their 20 year reunion on Saturday, August 14. fow To Be ood Cook? j Get Husband Who Likes Everything This week's "Good Cook" defined the secret of being a good cook in jus one sentence. "The secret of being a successful ook is to have a husband who likes everylhing." That was the claim made by Nancy " Curtis, wife of Glen Curtis of Trenonton. JVancy also said that like most harried women, she got the basis of everytiing she knows about cooking from Mqti. "She taught me everything I know ahttut cook- ing." Nancy is not the run of the mill cook. "I like to trv anything once." she said. She proves this by the meals she cooks. The Curtises like Mexican food, ftalian food and esDeciallv Icelandic focfl. Icelandic food?- - The Curtises spent 18 months of their married life in Iceland, fclen was a helicopter pilot in the Air yorce. They have also lived in Osden, Alabama, Texas and Utah. "The lcftgest we lived anywhere was Iceland ant that was for 18 montns. we noDe 10 nKe ireHiuiiiuii loneer." she said. While in Iceland. NancV"had lots of time on her hands." During jfhe winter, there were only four hours of ight from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. During long hairs, Nancy took up the art of cooking the ielandic way. Mrs. Curtis said she had plenty of opportunities to try out her cooking oi peoPle t0- - "There was always lots of company for dinner, she with all the single servicemen," I commented. When asked why lie Curtises clanged their lifestyle, Nancy commented that it was because Glen f anted to be bis own boss and because fie loves peopl. What better way can someone get to knoy people than to be in the retail business? Nancy asked. "However, we enjoyed our trivels and out friends," she said. Nancy keeps herseltfusy with a variety of hobbies such as seing, macrame and her newest piano. The church also keeps the Curtises busy. Glen has served in the Iceland branch presidency among other jobs. Mrs. Glen Curtis has been Primary president, Young Women's MIA president, Relief Society president and played the piano for every church organization. In Iceland, she was a teacher of the entire girl's MIA which was one class consisting of two girls. She is currently the CTRA teacher in Primary. Two children are what, perhaps, keeps the Curtises the busiest but give them the most enjoyment. The Curtises are the parents of two children, Tamara j3; and Brian, 13 rrionths. Brian was born in Iceland and so he holds duo citizenship and will have the opportunity of choosing when he is 18. The kid's favorite dishes are chocolate and peanut cookies. Tamara always likes to help her mother cook. She always has to have her own chair and her own spoon to stir, said Nancy. Right now Mrs. Curtis says that she is getting used to adapting her recipes for use in her new microwave oven. Three recipes that might be a little hard to adapt are Ysa (haddock), Pannokokur (pancakes) and Klaunur (Icelandic donuts ). Tremont, Tremonton, on July 14. Blood donations will be accepted from 2 to 7. The quota is 150 pints. At hours. According to LoReta Jos- ephson, the Bear River high cafeteria was chosen as the' setting because it was familiar and would bring back old memories. The cost for the reunion will be $15. PANNOKOKUR (PANCAKES) cup flour, V2 teaspoon baking powder, teaspoon baking soda, V teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, 3 eggs, 2 teaspoons cardamon, vanilla or lemon extracts may be used, 3 cups milk, V4 cup melted butter or margarine. Sift dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Make a dent in middle and break whole eggs into center. Swish and continue swishing while adding milk and flavoring. Add melted butter and blend, (or use blender) . The batter will be the consistency of heavy cream. Between Vi and one third cup is used for each pancake on a well headed skillet. Tip pan to seasoned spread the batter to the edge. Brown lightly on each side. The pancakes usually are served cold, as a dessert and can be made ahead of'time. At serving time, put about 1 tablespoon of whipped cream and jelly in the center of each pancake, fold into quarters and serve. Strawberries, etc. can be substituted for jam.
