Chapter members entered thirteen foundation awards and came away with eleven first place finishers and two second place awards. Winning first place honors; were: Chubb Munns, Beef Production; Chris Selman, Crop Production, Agricultural Electrification and Soil and Water Management; Jay Dee Scott, Agricultural Mechanics, Livestock Production; Gary Burton, Sheep Production; David Wells, Placement in Processing; Bryan Buchanan, Placement in Sales and Service; Couple Take Farm Tour In Hawaiian Islands 257-551- 3 Fred Coombs, and Mrs. Virgil Coombs have returned from a 'Farming Tour' in the Hawaiian Islands. They visited many points of interest including Mr. pineapple farms, banana plantations, the Macadamia the Parker Nut Farm, Ranch. They also visited the LDS Temple, the Polynesian Cultural Center and spent Mrs. sometime visiting Coombs niece Mrs. Kim Briggs at Waikiki Beach. They visited the Islands of Hawaii, Maui and Ohau. Darryl Adams has returned home to stay permanently after seven months in the LDS Hospital and the University Medical Center in Salt Lake City. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Adams accompanied him home Saturday. Darryl is planning to enroll at Bear River high school and complete his senior year. Mrs. Ardelle Thomas of Bethesda, Md. arrived at the Salt Lake airport Wednesday and was met by her sister Mrs. Sara Moss. Mrs. Thomas came especially to visit her sister Mrs. Vadis Gilgen of Malad who is seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Karl King and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce King enjoyed pizza at the Pizza House in Logan Saturday evening. The Future Progress guild met at the tiome of Mrs. Carol Forsberg Wednesday evening with Mrs. Lola Coombs and Mrs. Rhoda A Welling as musical program was furnished by Terry and Steven Lewis. They offer a $500 reward for the imprisonment of anyone who steals a car insured and marked by a member agent. Melvin Foxley, vice president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Utah, says "Thieves are reluctant to steal a car which is safeguarded by the offer of a cash reward for information leading to their arrest, conviction and imprisonment." Utah's law enforcement do a good job of recovering stolen vehicles, in Mr. Foxley's opinion, and this new reward program will help them considerably. Sanberg in Washington, near St. George.
