Nuts ...M Bolts & First Chosen I This is a far cry from prizes received today by the Wheat and Beet Day royalty. This year the queen will be the recipient of a $200 scholarship, wardrobe, one dozen red roses and a trophy. She will also earn the right to compete in the Miss Utah contest, as another step in the Miss America preliminary pageant Years ago, like the present as part of the year long reign , the Wheat and Beet royalty rode on a float in the annual parade. They, however, were required to build the float themselves. Miss Confer and her attendants built their float out of crepe paper. Miss Confer was also responsible for building the Little Princess float and Garland display at the fairgrounds that same year. Saute 1 pound round steak. Cut into chunks. Add to other ingredients. Cook and stir occasionally for 4 hours. Cook 1 chicken. Separate for 1 hour and then add it to the other ingredients.
