Rodger Andreas Callister, on of Mr. and Mrs. Grant John Folk Will Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Rallison of Burke, Virginia, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, LuAnn, to Mr. John R. Fa Ik, son of Mr. and Mrs. De Wayne H. Falk. of Tremonton. The couple will be married Logan LLs temple on August 1. Follow ing the wedding, the groom's parents will host a wedding breakfast, in honor of the newly weds, at the Bluebird in LoIn the Y gan. That evening a wedding reception will be held In their Callister. T. The couple plan to be married Wednesday, September 4. in the Logan LDS temple. That evening they will be honored at a reception at Bo curt Reception Center. Miss Allen is a graduate Wed Virginian h honor at Bowcutt's Reception Center in Tremonton, where they will greet their family and friends. After their marriage, the couple will leave for an extended honeymoon in the eastern states and Hill be honored at an open house at Burke, Virginia, on August inm ra - ii Lani Jane Alten and Rodger Callister Marv lane Anderson Kenneth Jones Town Talk By Linda Lansford Covering Garland, Tremonion, 52 Tremonton enjoyed a very busy week of love filled vis-I- ts from several dear out of town friends. Their favorite traveling companions of many years, the Wallace Sorensons of Richfield, ltah were brought to Tremonton by their Ogdenite daughter, Margaret Anderson. Margaret was also accompanied by her daughter and grandson. It was such a pleasant surprise for them to find four generations of Soren-son- 's standing on their doorstep! Next In line were the Dolph Noel tes of Chicago, Dlinois, are presently visiting their daughter, Lois Jenson of Brlgham City. Mrs. and her parents were baptised into the church on Patriarch Walton's first mission in and they have kept in touch all these years. Isn'tthat marvelous? Mrs. Sheryl Dustman Davis, accompanied by her mother, also made the trip from Ogden to visit the Wal-to- ns and they spent a pleasant afternoon together. Other visitors were the Elmer Haights of Quartzite, Arizona and the Dewey Griffins of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Walton also attended the wedding of their niece, Maureen Pack In I,o- ford Clelm. Hernewhusband halls from England as does her uncle, Billy Robson, who came for the wedding. Maureen and Manford had a very special wadding cake, made and decorated by Uncle Billy and brought by him all the way from England for their rcptlon. That seems to be a practically Impossible when you think of the fragile, delicate beauty of one of those cakes, doesn't It? Last but not least, the Wa- lwho No-el- tes 1910-19- 12 former Texas mission president. Mr. Ralph IUU and his daughter and grandchildren stopped by this week to reminice and visit this week. 'Ve loved every minute of time spent with our dear friends," says Mrs. Walton "and they were so considerate of us both that we're not even tired and wish we could see all of them more often!" Mr. and Mrs. Jim Archibald enjoyed a brief visit from daughter, Kathy Lavoy. this week. Kathy's busy young husband. Randy, had to stay behind in Salt Lake to tend to his chores on the Hotel Balderdash chlldrens X program and as a DJ on radio. Kathy graduated from college last spring and will be substitute teaching In the Salt Lake school system this school year. She loved her practice teaching and is really looking forward to working with the kids. They ata stage play while there and had a ball. Of course, all of this would have been impossible without two very understanding grandmothers who tended the kids so Mom and Dad could get away! Funk, of 622 Adams Ave., Ogden Utah, will be honored on their 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday August 3, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Lorin Farr Stake Center at 7th and Adams Ave., Ogden Utah. Mr. Funk was born April 1. 1905, at Sterling, Utah. Mrs. Funk was born June 8, 1903 at Centerfield Utah. Friends and relatives a re in- vited to call. It is fondly called our Pioneer Day and we try to cook and eat only foods that the Utah pioneers had available to them and is always a memorable experience. Over 175 people came to enjoy the marvelous food provided by Wilma Fridal and all her helpers. Willis and Virginia Petersen provided the dell-closourdough biscuits cooked over the campfire and Keith Fridal cooked beet turkey, and pork In a big Are pit, which was done to perfection and devoured in short order by all of us! The hardier souls In the group camped out overnight and cooked breakfast the next morning for their families. We were having such a good time that the kids and I didn't come home until late afternoon, along with Elva Munns and her brood. A book review of an original fairy tale was composed and given by Nona Rhead. President Mabel Anderson then turned the time over to May Fridal who will be the president of the club for the coming year. She announced that the first meeting of the club would be held September 4, and urged all members to be present. A delicious luncheon was served to sixteen members and three guests. Tremonton Garland Literary Club met for their summer party at the Bluebird in IxiRan. President Mabel Anderson took charge of the meeting and welcomed the guests which were former members of the club. They were Belle Wood of Garland, Jane Marble of Bothwell and Helen West of Salt Lake City. A short program was given which consisted of original poems in the form of a tribute to each member which I Aug.
